Our Assistant Principal
Ms. Sharon Camarillo is excited to be a part of the Sage Canyon Coyote team. Ms. Camarillo has been an educator in Del Mar Union School District since 2014 and has had the joy and privilege of teaching and learning alongside students at several of our schools in our district. Most recently, Sharon supported district-wide efforts as a Teacher on Special Assignment for our Instructional Services Department.
Ms. Camarillo is proud to be a San Diego native (fourth generation on her mother’s side!). She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from San Diego State University and spent several years working in the broadcast news industry before pursuing her career in education and earning a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from Florida Atlantic University. She has lived in South Carolina, Florida, and Minnesota.
Sharon strives to foster connection and belonging so that all students and adults can thrive in their school environment. She enjoys connecting with and learning alongside people and considers it a joy and privilege to serve students who are in the early years of their educational journeys.
Ms. Camarillo and her husband have three daughters who are entering 8th, 6th, and 3rd grade this school year. They also have two dogs who keep them very active and fulfilled.
