Sixth grade Spanish teachers provide an opportunity for students to learn Spanish through meaningful interaction and cultural study.  Second language study promotes higher academic achievement, greater problem-solving skills, and cultural competency in students.

Ms. Gabi Gjata

Ms. Gjata completed her master's in education, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and Bilingual Authorization at UCSD. She received her bachelor's degree in education studies with a minor in language studies from UCSD, as well.

 

Ms. Gjata is from Encinitas where she was enrolled in a dual language immersion program in elementary school where instruction was in Spanish and English. Through this experience, she learned the value of bilingualism and bilingual education which has inspired her to become a bilingual teacher.
